In the dynamic world of basketball footwear, Puma Hoops was set to make a resounding return in the Australian market. Teaming up with Throwback and Puma, Harry embarked on a mission to introduce Puma Hoops to the Australian consumer while staying true to both brands' identity. The goal was clear:
Create a genuine connection with the Australian audience while embracing Puma's anti-establishment basketball culture.
Puma Hoops had successfully established itself as a disruptive force in the American basketball market. Harry's challenge alongside the team was to replicate this success in Australia while ensuring authenticity and alignment with Throwback and Puma's brand guidelines.
Leveraging Puma HQ's creative direction, Harry utilised Adobe Premiere and Photoshop to craft captivating launch videos and graphics for an impactful online and offline presence. Custom-designed decals, using Adobe Illustrator, guided passersby to the newest basketball sensation within Throwback's flagship store. This in-person marketing was heavily supported through Harry's development of a thoughtfully designed ad strategy across both Meta & Google, encompassing both brand awareness and conversions, amplifying Puma's presence. Through Shopify, custom HTML & CSS, Harry created bespoke landing pages, completely taking over Throwback's website both prior to and following the brands launch. Furthermore, utilising Klaviyo, Harry executed an email marketing campaign to drive traffic both to the online and flagship store, creating authentic excitement.
The outcome of this project was nothing short of remarkable. Within the first month following the launch, Puma Hoops established itself as a thriving player in the Australian basketball scene, growing above 10% share of footwear sales within Throwback's product range.
