Recently, I had the pleasure to collaborate with Throwback, Australia's leading e-commerce Hoops Store, to redesign their app to enhance the mobile shopping experience and increase revenue and app user engagement.

Project Deliverables

New App Design

  • Redesigned app interface with improved in-app banners and menus.
  • Enhanced navigation to provide a better shopping experience.

Meta & Google Ad Campaign

  • Create video & graphic content to be used across Meta & Google Ads
  • Set up these ads across multiple groups to bring awareness, drive downloads, and increase revenue

Email Campaigns

  • Using Klaviyo, design and implement multiple email campaigns to send to Throwback's existing data-base informing them of the app redesign, and driving downloads.

In-App Push Notification Strategy

  • Implemented a strategy and cemented a brand voice to continually engage users with regular app-push notifications

The results speak for themselves!

The app re-design was launched in May 2022. Following this launch app sales significantly increased, exceeding revenue targets Comparing April 2022 to May 2022, Throwback's app saw a

  • 792.2% increase in in-app revenue
  • 718.3% increase in in-app sessions
  • 645.1% increase in in-app retention
  • 682.7% increase in in-app activity
  • 717.9% increase in total app sessions
  • 1131.2% increase in new app sessions

These increased numbers didn't come solely as a result of the marketing push, as in the 90 days folllowing launc, Throwback's app saw:

  • 86.5% user retention rate (Industry average of 18%)
  • 3.3K New App Users
  • 26.3K Increase in App Sessions
  • 3.7% In-App Conversion Rate (Industry Average: 1-2%)
  • 20% month-on-month growth in in-app sessions
